Please keep in touch with others just like you, be they friends from your service days or other service members in your new home area. Keep in touch because you are going to go through some feelings that you might think are your's and your's alone, but they are not. Many of us go through many of the same feelings. Seek help long before you need it too, because you just might help someone who responds. Respect always.

That is your decision, but to say that you do not have freedom while in the Military is BS their a million ways that you can do what ever you want outside of drugs. Your an MA, cake duty you can crossover to an MC and you can still continue to do your passion and maybe you can even build on to what you have.

If you want a family and have a job to go to it's a good decision, at least from the perspective of this one time military kid. My Dad was in the military until I hit 10 years so I didn't have a real "home" until that time. No long term friends, not much time around the relatives. I wish I had been raised in one area, perhaps near some cousins and been able to have a lifelong friend. You have all the right physical attributes to go far in media, couple that with skill, motivation and drive you should go far.

You have great ideas to make a living. I live near a veterans hospital. I have seen some Vets at work that have back pain out of the service and living with the pain at too young of age. The mental damage of war as well. Just remember them when you get out. You have a great skill set and a great gf .

My uncle did a ton of Navy time too; he flew F-14’s and went on a ton of super secret ‘missions’, I guess. He has been out for quite a long time now. Anyway, rooting for you until the end of your 7 years! 7 years is a long freaking time. Good luck!

I got out of the Army at thirteen years and used to constantly wonder if I made a mistake by not doing twenty. However, after analyzing the pros and cons multiple times over the years the answer is always the same: I made the right decision. Make sure you do your final medical and file for disability. Don't ever think you shouldn't file! You've earned it and you'll be happy you're guaranteed medical coverage 30 years down the road. Best of luck buddy!!
